ITF Helsinki Midnight Sun by Freja 2022, grade 700 gathered 250 players from 34 countries

Freja Transport and Logistics was again be the title sponsor of theese tournaments  at Kalastajatorppa Tennis Club.

Our other main partners,  Aktia , and Nadal, Bavaria Laakkonen BMW, Kiriprintti, Harvia, Olvi, Kalevala, Abilar, Talin Tenniskeskus, GeorgJensen, with other fantastic sponsors and all the dedicated volunteers will run the tournament again at Kalastajatorppa Tennis Club in Helsinki Argipelago.

New Year´s wishes for 2022 from Riku

Year 2016 we had already 170 players from 10 countries and the status was exceptionally upgraded by the ITF from Grade 5 to Grade 3.

Year 2017 the ITF upgraded the tournament to Grade 2 and players from 14 countries attended all the way from Australia, New Zealand, India, Europe and Scandinavia of course.  

Year 2018 tournament was played in Kalastajatorppa Tennis Club in Helsinki arkipelago, and the name was changed to Helsinki Midnight Sun by FREJA according to the title sponsor Freja Transport & Logistics company. Great Finnish summer weather blessed the tournament week and the players´ party with 200 guests witnessed the ( almost ) midnight sun set on the Hilton Hotel Kalastajatorppa terrace.

Year 2019 the tournament was upgraded to G1 and we had 275 players from 30 countries. Thus we made 3 records!!

Year 2020:  The ITF upgraded Helsinki Midnight Sun Open by Freja to Grade A. Unfortunately the tournament was postponed to 2021 due to Corona. We wish you all welcome to Helsinki 25.-31.July 2021

ITF Seniors

Some matches were played at Tali Tennis Center, the venue for all earlier tournaments. Tali´s 11 outdoor courts ( clay and artificial grass ) and 27 indoor GreenSet courts make it the largest tennis center in the Nordic Countries. Tali was also the venue for the ITF Seniors´ World Championships 2016.

Our players abroad

ITP members have represented Finland in seniors´ national teams on various occasions  on ITF tour and individual tournaments in the Nordic countries, in the Baltics, Spain, France etc – and sometimes in almost unhuman conditions….. 

Our members have won several Finnish championships trophies and at least 1 European Championship.

In order to participate in the ITF Senior Tournaments, you need to have a player licence.
